In short. BloodShare is a free way to find blood donors. We are not a hospital or a blood bank, we cannot guarantee that blood will be found, and the medical decisions are always the hospital’s. Be honest, be kind, and never ask for or offer money for blood.
1. About these terms
By signing in to or using BloodShare (bloodshare.in), run by the BloodShare team (“we”, “us”), you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. What BloodShare is, and is not
- BloodShare connects people who need blood with people willing to donate. It is free for everyone.
- We are not a medical service, hospital or blood bank. We do not collect, test, store or supply blood.
- In an emergency, contact the hospital or call emergency services first. Do not rely on BloodShare alone.
- We do not verify requests or donors, and we cannot promise that a donor will respond or that blood will be found in time.
- The questions we ask before you pledge are a self-check, not medical advice. The blood centre makes the final decision about whether anyone can donate.
3. Who can use it
- You must be at least 13 to have an account. That includes posting a request for a relative.
- To offer to donate you must be between 18 and 65 and pass the self-check.
- You sign in with your own Google account. Keep it secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- Give accurate information, and keep your profile up to date.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- post a request that is false, or that you are not entitled to make on the patient’s behalf;
- pledge to donate if you do not intend or are not able to;
- ask for, offer or accept money or any reward for blood. Paying for blood is not allowed under Indian law, and it is not allowed on BloodShare;
- use another person’s contact details for anything other than the request they were shared for;
- send spam, advertise, or promote anything unrelated to blood donation;
- harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone;
- try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the service.
5. Posting a request
You are responsible for what you post. Details of a request, including the patient’s name and the contact number you enter, can be seen by signed-in members (see the Privacy Policy). Please post only what is needed, and keep a request up to date: close it once blood is arranged so donors are not called for nothing.
6. Offering to donate, and meeting
- An offer to donate is voluntary. You may cancel it, and a requester may decline it.
- Once a requester accepts you, they can see your phone number so you can arrange the donation. Donors and requesters deal with each other directly. We are not a party to any arrangement and are not responsible for what happens between you.
- Donate only at a hospital or licensed blood centre, and look after your own safety when you meet or travel.
7. Disagreements about whether a donation happened
A requester can record that a donor did not donate, and each side can add one short note. We keep both accounts. We do not decide who is right, and nothing is held against anyone automatically. We may limit or close an account that repeatedly misuses the service.
8. Emails and notifications
When you register as a donor you agree to receive alerts about nearby requests, in the app and by email. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also mark yourself unavailable. Alerts are limited, and contain no patient name or phone number.
9. Our rights
We may remove content, or suspend or close an account, if these terms are broken or to protect people. We may change, pause or stop the service at any time. We work to keep BloodShare running but do not promise it will always be available or error-free.
10. Limits of our responsibility
BloodShare is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss or harm arising from the use of the service, including blood not being found in time, a donor or requester not acting as promised, or anything that happens between members. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under law that cannot be limited.
11. Changes, law and contact
We may update these terms and will change the date at the top. If you keep using BloodShare after a change, you accept the new terms. These terms are governed by the laws of India.
